McKeen & Associates, P.C. recently won a court of appeals case against an assistant surgeon who worked along Dr. Aria Sabit. Dr. Sabit was a neurosurgeon who convinced dozens of patients to have spinal surgeries that they did not need.
Dr. Sabit and his assistant surgeons would claim to have performed surgeries in which he never did and bill the surgeries to insurance companies. This included actually putting patients under anesthesia and then not performing any procedures or placing the requisite hardware.
Dr. Sabit is currently serving approximately 20 years in prison for his crimes. It is our belief that his assistants had ample knowledge of these facts and are equally responsible for the damages to the patients. On April 1, 2020 the court of appeals denied the defendant’s motion for reconsideration.
