Recently, the New York Times ran an article about Dr. Jihad Mustapha, an interventionist cardiologist who was performing unnecessary procedures that sometimes resulted in amputations and lifelong injuries.
This is yet another example of a practice McKeen & Associates knows too well: dangerous doctors abusing patients for personal gain. Dr. Mustafa’s actions resulted in unspeakable injuries to multiple patients, including many who have lost their legs. This type of behavior never should have been allowed to take place in the first place, and this dangerous doctor should have been identified and weeded out of the system before he was allowed to injure so many innocent people.
Patients should have the right to trust their doctors, hospitals, and other healthcare providers. Unfortunately, we have seen too many examples where that is not the case. For example, Dr. Farid Fata, who wrongly diagnosed people with cancer and gave them unnecessary chemotherapy treatments; and Dr. Yasser Awaad, who diagnosed hundreds of children with epilepsy that they never had. McKeen & Associates successfully fought on behalf of the victims of former physicians Fata and Awaad as well as other physicians and medical practitioners who put their personal greed before the safety of their patients.
