Contest Produces Three Ideas To Help Those With Cerebral Palsy

On Behalf of | Dec 5, 2012 | Birth Injuries

An international coalition of disability advocacy organizations came together to host the “Change My World in 1 minute” contest to benefit those with cerebral palsy (CP). The contest called for people to submit ideas for new products that could benefit CP patients. Nearly 500 ideas were received and thousands of people voted for their favorite.

As a result, the following three ideas will be developed:

  • Fold-up motorized wheelchair
  • Solar-powered wheelchair
  • Documentary: Cerebral Palsy in the 21st Century

Contest officials are now encouraging people to submit prototypes of the chosen ideas; the deadline is the end of March. There is a cash prize for the winners.

It’s great to see people across the world come together for such a great cause. We’ve seen great progress in the technology and social respect for those with cerebral palsy.

No child chooses to have cerebral palsy, but sometimes their condition was caused by medical negligence during their fetal development or birth. Our cerebral palsy attorneys help families explore their legal options when they suspect that medical malpractice caused the condition. Call a skilled lawyer today to discuss your case.

McKeen & Associates, PC, is dedicated to serving cerebral palsy victims and their families. Based in Detroit, we successfully represent clients throughout the nation.
