“My early involvement with the criminal justice system as a police officer inspired me to pursue a career in law as an attorney.” Paul Broschay

Paul Broschay is an associate with McKeen & Associates. Paul’s first job as an adult as a Detroit Police Officer while he was still a student at Wayne State University, has afforded him a unique perspective as an attorney. His early police experience has been beneficial in the expansion of the firm’s civil litigation cases.

Paul joined McKeen & Associates in 2019, bringing with him more than 30 years of experience as an attorney in medical malpractice, personal injury and civil rights cases.

Some of the noteworthy personal injury and medical malpractice cases Paul has handled include a $25 million verdict against the City of Dearborn for a Ford Motor Company employee struck and killed by a parking attendant who was attempting to join a high-speed police chase; $10 million verdict against North Pointe Pioneer Counseling for a therapist who used drugs and alcohol to influence a patient to engage in sexual relations; and a $5.175 million settlement in a personal injury case against a trucking company.

Paul has also been involved in several important civil litigation cases including: a $3.7 million settlement against the City of Warren for the wrongful rape convictions and incarceration of two men; a $3.25 settlement and $2.5 million verdict against the Michigan Department of Corrections for the wrongful death of two mentally ill prisoners who died of dehydration and malnutrition; a $2.5 million verdict against the City of Detroit Police Department for the beating death of man; and a $2.5 million verdict against the City of Canton, Ohio for the wrongful death of a man by police officers.

Paul graduated from Wayne State University and the Detroit College of Law. He is a Martindale Hubbard a/v rated attorney and enjoys spending time with his family when not practicing law.
